About Me

Who is Your Teacher?

Hi, I’m Michaela! As someone who speaks multiple languages—German, Portuguese, Czech, and of course, English—I’ve always been fascinated by how language opens doors. My love for English began early: at just eight years old, driven by my passion for music and lyrics, I started teaching myself English long before courses for children were common. My parents soon enrolled me in an adult English course—and I haven’t stopped learning or loving the language since.

That early spark grew into a lifelong journey. I graduated with Honours in English Literature from a university in the UK—fulfilling a dream to study at the same institution as my favorite author. During my time in the UK, I taught in preschools and primary schools, supported immigrant families learning English, and saw firsthand how language could transform lives. For me, English is more than a subject—it’s a bridge to opportunity, confidence, and belonging.

A Multidisciplinary Approach

What sets me apart is the blend of skills I bring to each lesson. With experience in translation and proofreading—including several book translations—I have a deep sensitivity to the nuances of language. My background in hospitality and managerial roles in hotels and restaurants gave me valuable insight into the corporate world. I draw on this experience when preparing students for business meetings, presentations, or working in English-speaking environments.

My ongoing studies in psychology, therapy, and the psychology of learning help me tailor lessons to how you learn best. I believe motivation, mindset, and emotional safety are just as important as grammar rules. As an avid runner, yogi, and sports enthusiast, I understand the importance of setting goals and staying motivated—skills I bring into the classroom to help you stay focused and inspired.

Learning Together

Today, I teach English to learners of all ages and backgrounds—whether you’re preparing for travel, improving your fluency for work, or building confidence in everyday conversation. I continue to work with children through camps and activities, but also specialize in helping adults achieve their personal and professional goals.

I’m here to guide and support you, whatever your starting point. Together, we’ll build your skills, your confidence, and open new doors through the power of language.

Who I Work With:

I work with curious, motivated learners of all backgrounds and levels. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or already fluent but looking to refine your skills, I’ll meet you where you are.

How I Teach (and Why It Works)

I believe that learning English should be personal, practical, and enjoyable. Whether you’re preparing for an important presentation, moving to an English-speaking country, or simply aiming to feel more confident in conversation, I’m here to help you get there—with kindness, clarity, and a method that fits you.

1. Language as a Life Skill

English isn’t just vocabulary and grammar—it’s a tool for real life. That’s why I focus on communication first: understanding, expressing yourself clearly, and using English naturally in real-world situations. My lessons are always tailored to your personal goals, interests, and context.

2. Multilingual Empathy

As a language learner myself, I know how vulnerable and frustrating it can feel at times. I bring that understanding into every lesson. My multilingual background allows me to explain things in a way that makes sense to your brain—not just from a native speaker’s perspective.

3. Mindset Matters

Through my studies in psychology and my own athletic training, I’ve come to value mindset as much as method. I integrate simple, effective tools to help you stay motivated, build confidence, and overcome mental blocks that often come with learning a new language—like perfectionism, fear of speaking, or comparing yourself to others.

4. Holistic & Human

Language is deeply human—so I take a holistic approach. We don’t just practice English; we explore your learning style, strengths, and needs. My aim is to create a safe, encouraging space where you feel free to make mistakes, ask questions, and grow at your own pace.

I Especially Love Working With:

  •  Adults who need English for work, travel, or daily life
  • Professionals preparing for presentations, meetings, or job interviews in English
  • Freelancers & entrepreneurs who want to connect with clients internationally

  • Language lovers who want to speak more naturally and confidently

  • Parents & families looking for support with their children’s English learning

I also regularly organize language camps and activities for children, both in-person and online, creating fun, engaging environments for young learners to explore English.

What I Offer:

My lessons are always personalized, flexible, and focused on real communication. I offer:

  • 1-to-1 private lessons (online or in person)

  • Business English & professional communication coaching

  • Conversation classes to improve fluency and confidence

  • English for travel, relocation, or everyday use

  • Proofreading, editing, and translation services

  • English support for children & families

You can choose from single sessions, packages, or ongoing programs based on your needs and goals.

Let’s work together to build your English—and your confidence—with lessons that fit your life.

Beyond the Classroom

When I’m not teaching, you’ll most likely find me in nature, running a trail, or enjoying a peaceful moment with a sketchbook and a cup of tea. I live in the beautiful Šumava mountains, close to the borders of the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany—an inspiring place that keeps me grounded, creative, and connected.

I’m passionate about movement and well-being, whether through yoga, hiking, or long-distance running. I find that the focus, patience, and resilience built through these activities also shape how I support my students: with clarity, care, and the belief that small steps lead to big growth.

My love of languages, literature, and psychology is lifelong—and always evolving. I’m currently studying psychotherapy and expanding my work to include language-based coaching and supportive guidance for personal development, especially for international clients.

“The limits of my language are the limits of my world.”
